Works by one of the world's most iconic painters, Gustav Klimt, will appear in Zagreb as part of an exhibition on the Viennese Secession movement at Klovićevi Dvori Gallery.
The exhibition will feature hundreds of works of art from Austrian and Croatian artists during the 'fin de siècle', the end of the 19th century. Zagreb's art scene was massively influenced by Vienna towards the turn of the century, and 'Modern Challenge, Zagreb – Vienna 1900' features works by Gustav Klimt, Koloman Moser, Josef Hoffmann Bukovac, Ivan Mestrovic alongside a tranche of Croatian modern artists. The exhibition opens on 9 February 2017.
