A giant mural has just been completed in Sisak. The startling piece is the work of Zagreb-based street artist Lonac, whose gargantuan paintings are quickly earning him an international following.
Titled 'Off you go', the mural depicts a cockroach about to be ensnared by human hands wielding an open jar. It's a striking image - partly because it's splashed over the wall of a high rise apartment block. The work is part of the Re: Think Sisak festival, which aims to fill the public spaces of Sisak city with public art.
Lonac's impressive legacy includes a giant beating heart (in a secret Zagreb location) that had the internet in raptures. As his popularity grows, more of his impossibly cool pieces are cropping up further afield - he finished an imposing double-portrait called The Kiss in Italy this year.
