Dream Coffee & Wine Bar

Given the upsurge in quality Croatian wine production, it’s no surprise that the concept of the wine bar is also on the rise. Dream goes for the slinky suave approach to wine-bar chic, with plush grey bench-seats and armchairs illuminated by what look like crystal pineapples hanging from a vaulted red-brick ceiling. There’s an excellent choice of wines by the glass starting at 18Kn - and here at least, cheap doesn’t necessarily mean downmarket. Hum-drum Frankopanska ulica isn’t the ideal place for al-fresco drinking, but at least Dream are making an effort to tart up the street scene by shading their outdoor tables with huge potted trees.
