Alcatraz 2

This three-floor joint on the bar-crawl boulevard Tkalčićeva is Alcatraz's big sister venue. On the top deck, a decent-enough restaurant with a Mediterranean-spanning menu provides fuel until 2am. The middle floor has more of a trendy bar feel, decorated in earthy tones, where minimal techno faintly patters on in the background. Downstairs, a playlist of dance-floor fillers keeps a constant throng of locals, students and interrailers entertained until the wee hours, with all the accruements of the original Alcatraz bar; Americana-themed knick-knacks, baffling latex sculptures of rock and roll heroes, and a DJ situated in the shell of a VW beetle. Loud, raucous and full of weird fun, Alcatraz 2 makes a perfect jaunt for a late-night knees-up.
