Constructed in 1914 (with additional renovation in 1922), on the site of a former open-air theatre, Teatro Fenice was an innovative building at the time of its opening. Sadly, WW1 and a lack of financial support stunted its expected growth. No longer in use, the site is now sometimes used for events, such as raves, but is still recognised as a protected cultural item by the Republic of Croatia.
