This dinner series is designed to showcase cultural food from ever corner of the globe by inviting a matriarch to work with the Southport & Irving kitchen staff to prepare a five-course meal. "Unity in Diversity" grew out of the idea that regardless of where people come from, most families have a matriarch who shows their love by stuffing everyone with food. The first dinner will focus on Mexican cuisine and feature pozole, a hominy pork stew, birria, slow cooked beef with spices and pollo en mole poblano. Profits from the dinner will benefit Mujeres Latinas en Accion, an organization empowering Latinas through social services and advocacy initiatives.
