Studs' Place, which premiered on NBC in 1949, was broadcast live and was mostly improvised, with legendary Chicago author and oral historian Studs Terkel starring as the proprietor of the titular diner. This Hideout show, which begins at 7pm, attempts to recapture the feel of watching a live TV broadcast. Following the format of two previous "episodes," a cast directed by Meredith Milliron of Barrel of Monkeys performs in front of a camera in Hideout's front bar while an audience in the rear performance space watches a black-and-white projection of the feed. The cast includes John Geiger, Roger Payton, Chris Rathjen, Nick Wagner and Rachel Wilson.
