Chicago's amateur bakers go toe-to-toe and slice-to-slice at this annual pie competition in which a jury awards prizes in four flavor categories: fruit pies, nut pies, cream pies and sweet potato/pumpkin pies. You can enter your sweet creation for $30 per pie, but the event is free to attend as a spectator and $4 per slice, if you'd like to provide a little amateur (and unofficial) judgement yourself. All proceeds go toward the Hyde Park and Kenwood Hunger Programs.
