Poetry off the Shelf: A Celebration of Seamus Heaney

Celebrate Nobel Prize winner Seamus Heaney’s life and work upon the recent release of 100 Poems. The Poetry Foundation hosts this one-night event with appearances from Heaney’s daughter, Catherine Heaney, as well as poets Rosanna Warren, Elise Paschen, Kevin Young  and Consul General of Ireland Brian O’Brien, who will read selected works from the book. Heaney is widely recognized as one of the most notable poets of the 20th century. A native of Northern Ireland, Heaney won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1995, was the author of over 20 volumes of poetry and criticism, and edited several widely used anthologies.
