When Doug Sohn announced in May that he was closing his cult-favorite hot dog joint, Hot Doug's, on October 3, you would think he had declared he was a serial killer and had been storing his victims in the kitchen—people lost their fool minds. With the lines outside Hot Doug's now reaching five hours (FIVE HOURS), we felt it was time to remind people that despite losing other favorite restaurants, bars, nightclubs and more over the years, there's plenty of talent in this city for new spots to rise, phoenix-like, to take their place.
