Firebird Parade

As part of Chicago Park District’s Night Out in the Parks series, 2023 Guggenheim Fellow in Choreography Nejla Yatkin has performed her interactive and joyous Firebird dances—which invite participants to wear colorful homemade costumes and join in a festive procession of bird-inspired movements—in parks all across the city over the past several weeks. The pop-ups will conclude with a performance at Caracol Gathering Space in the Burnham Wildlife Corridor on July 8, followed by a parade with costumes, sounds and dances.
