Celebrating the 30th anniversary of John Hughes's classic film, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Ferris Fest allows fans to follow the movie's path from suburban Northbrook to downtown Chicago. The three day event kicks off with a 1986-themed dance at the Athletico Center in Northbrook. On Saturday, a tour takes attendees to Glennbrook High School and Wrigley Field, before ending with a screening moderated by film critic Richard Roeper at the John & Nancy Hughes Theater. On Sunday, the festival wraps up with a visit to the Art Institute and a re-creation of the film's parade scene.
Even if you're not attending the festival, you can check out a recreation of Ferris Bueller's bedroom at Virgin Hotels Chicago throughout the weekend (admission is $10).
