It's been more than a decade since the City of Chicago last hosted an official fireworks display, a duty that has been passed off to Navy Pier in recent years. But Mayor Lori Lightfoot is reviving the long-dormant tradition this year as part of her Open Chicago initiative, celebrating the city's full reopening with an aerial show that will be visible along the lakefront from Grand Avenue to at least 55th Street. The high-altitude display will be accompanied by a music simulcast. on WBBM Newsradio 780 AM and 105.9 FM. Find a spot on the beach and enjoy the show!
