In his latest book, Homeland Elegies, Pulitzer-winning playwright and novelist Ayad Akhtar—whose incisive play Disgraced was peformed at the Goodman Theatre in 2015—ruminates on disillusionment and the American dream in the wake of 9/11 and the 2016 election. He'll be joined by Obama administration alum Eboo Patel to discuss the book in this free Chicago Humanities Festival talk, which will be livestreamed. Be sure to stick around for a live Q+A session.
