79th Street Renaissance Festival

Don't show up in ye olde jester costume. Here, the word Renaissance signals rebirth. The Auburn Gresham neighborhood is reborn with a showcase of the neighborhood's vendors, artists and performers. The daylong festival is rounded out by a petting zoo, a 60-foot tall Ferris wheel and a headlining set from former Hyde Park resident and “Queen of Funk” Chaka Khan.
