Congo Square Theatre returns to live performances for the first time in two years with the Chicago premiere of What to Send Up When It Goes Down, an incisive, vignette-style play by playwright Aleshea B. Harris. Designed for a Black audience (but open to all), the show explores ways to both address and heal from pervasive violence against Black people, utilizing audience participation to bring attendees into the story. The first half of the show's run will be presented at GRAY Chicago before it moves to Rebuild Foundation's Stony Island Arts Bank.
