Concert pianist Mona Golabek's solo performance, adapted from her book of the same name, blends music and storytelling in relating the tale of Golabek's mother. Herself an aspiring pianist, Lisa Jura was forced to flee Austria for London, where she lived with dozens of other Kindertransport refugees but still found time to practice. This one-night performance at the Harris Theater, accompanied by the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras, is a benefit for Urban Gateways' arts education programs.
