The Book of Mormon has announced its return to Chicago in 2015. The hit musical comedy, created by South Park's Trey Parker and Matt Stone and newly minted EGOTer Robert Lopez, will return to the Bank of America Theatre for a 12-week run beginning February 24.
The Book of Mormon ran for 43 weeks beginning in December 2012 before that company departed in October to become the second national touring company (see my five-star review). Three of the previous Chicago run's lead actors, Nic Rouleau, Ben Platt and Syesha Mercado, are now performing those roles in the Broadway production. Casting for the upcoming Chicago run is yet to be determined.
Tickets for the February 24–May 17, 2015 Chicago stand are now on sale for groups of 15 or more; individual tickets will go on sale at a later date.
