The Greenhouse's yearlong Solo Celebration opens with writer-performer Staceyann Chin's piece documenting her road to motherhood as a single lesbian from Jamaica with no health insurance or financial stability to speak of. Chin comes to Chicago following MotherStruck!'s premiere at New York City's Culture Project, where Cynthia Nixon directed it.
