An abridged version of Cheryl L. West's forthcoming play Fannie, which follows the life of civil and voting rights movement leader Fannie Lou Hamer, takes the stage at nine parks throughout Chicago, through a collaboration between the Goodman Theatre and the Chicago Parks District. Starring Chicago actor and singer E. Faye Butler and featuring spirituals like “We Shall Not Be Moved” and “I’m on My Way to Freedom," the 40-minute performances are open the public on a first come, first served basis, one hour prior to each start time (guests can register on the Goodman's website to receive more information). Attendees will need to distance from other groups and wear face coverings during each performance.
