Warm tortillas overflow with succulent meat, onions and cilantro at this homey corner spot (just one of four locations in the Chicago area). Beef tacos are the main attraction, with options of asada (charbroiled chunks), cecina (thin grilled strips), or picadillo (ground beef with peppers and onions). The housemade chorizo isn’t half bad but the al pastor is not to be missed. It's more than tacos that keeps this place consistently packed, though: The weekend special of mole poblano with chicken is a steal, and if you're still recovering from the night before, a big bowl of menudo—a traditional Mexican hangover cure—should nurse you back to health.
