Takeout classics like shrimp lo mein and vegetable dumplings aren't going to make this pan-Asian restaurant any more memorable than the former tenant of this space, Chikurin (which had similar offerings and identical decor, plus dabbled in sushi). But like its predecessor, Thee Asian has two things that make it a viable neighborhood restaurant: low prices for big portions and extremely close proximity to a good wine store (Cellar Rat). Making decent fried salt-and-pepper tofu and shredded beef teriyaki with baked rice doesn't hurt.
