For whatever reason, the space that houses this colorful Caribbean restaurant has trouble getting customers through the door. We wish this most recent resident the best, though mainly for selfish reasons. We want to return for the whole snapper, with its crispy skin and tender flesh (request garlicky onion oil to drizzle on top). We’ve also become fans of the Cuban-style tamale, a pillow of sweet masa studded with aggressively seasoned pork. And on nights when we can’t decide, there’s a solid sampler of greatest hits: raisin-studded ground beef (picadillo), tender shredded beef redolent of braised carrots (ropa vieja) and hunks of pork belly carrying tropical flavors of lime and cumin.
