Film buffs and food geeks know Tampopo as one of the best—and most overtly erotic—food flicks ever made. This cute sushi spot may not be as, um, intense as the film, but the thick cuts of fresh salmon and yellowtail on offer here are hard to argue with. Delicious “Caterpillar” rolls (sweet unagi, cucumber and avocado) and “French” rolls (shrimp, cucumber, Japanese mayo) will satiate maki fans, while a steaming bowl of noodles and shrimp in a salty broth makes a rich, flavorful sushi alternative.
