We’ve seen a couple of menus floating around this aptly named eatery, but we’ve never spotted anyone actually ordering from one; bargain buffet is the name of the game. You don’t come to be wowed by the subtleties or spiciness, but to fill up on reliable classics like tandoori chicken, samosas, peas-n-cheese, butter chicken, creamy spinach, black lentils and cardamom rice pudding. Like the flavorful mulligatawny soup, many of the buffet’s pans are packed with vegetarian dishes, which—along with the price—is what draws in Belmont hipsters and hippies who are perfectly oblivious to the less-than-spotless surroundings and the somewhat surly older couple operating the joint.
