The aroma of grilled short ribs emanated so strongly from this unsuspecting spot that we abandoned our previous plans and swerved into the parking lot. From the first bite of seafood pancake, we knew it was a good move. Enormous bowls of slippery noodles were a bland waste of time, but the kalbi barbecue’s soft layers of fat melted on our tongues, and the tasty banchan (such as fish cakes loaded with flavorful kimchi spice) had us hooked.
