Despite the name, empanadas are only a portion of what's offered at this unassuming storefront. Breakfast features dishes like pancakes, eggs and fruit shakes (all staggeringly cheap), and sandwiches on focaccia-like Chilean bread include options like grilled salmon, steak and avocado and ham and cheese. Can the empanadas compete with the rest of the menu? Considering these are baked, not fried, and have a somewhat odd and doughy exterior, the answer varies from no (re: the ricotta-and-spinach) to yes (the beef-olive-egg).
