This Rogers Park restaurant/concert venue/bar could have creepy ventriloquists “entertaining” diners and a menu composed solely of Hot Pockets, and it would still bring in business—there aren’t many restaurants in the immediate area. Yet it overachieves with a menu of favorites including fried mac-and-cheese wedges with a chipotle dipping sauce and—in a nod to area hippies—a grilled portobella mushroom sandwich. (Meat lover? Don't worry: There's a melt-in-your-mouth char-crusted rib eye.)
