There’s not much of a science-fiction theme at this new vegan takeout shop from former Atomix owner Adam Paul—it’s just a bare-bones steam table setup. But science fiction could explain the fact that the barbecue “rib” seitan had the consistency of astronaut ice cream, and that the funky mac and soy-cheese defied gravity by sticking to an upturned spoon. The overly salty tofu “egg” salad and gloopy greens in coconut milk, however, can only be explained by the kitchen. Surprisingly, the sweet potato chips are among the best around. But as far as everything else goes, we’ll stick to eating on Earth.
