Komorebi Sushi, one of Wicker Park's newest additions, boasts an impressive selection of sushi from chefs Joon Kim, formerly of Ruxbin Kitchen, and Eric Song, chef/owner at Rollapalooza Sushi in Lakeview. At this spot that emphasizes affordable luxury, you can pick from a long list of signature rolls like Shishito Maguro with fresh tuna, spring onion over yellow tail, avocado, shishito pepper with truffle vinaigrette and scallion oil or traditional favorites like the Spicy Tuna Roll. But if you feel like redefining your understanding of sushi, go with one of their special rolls like the Cruncheese which is baked mozzarella cheese over shrimp tempura, cream cheese, cucumber and avocado. They also offer fusion options combining western cooking techniques with Japanese ingredients like Saikyo Yaki, a white miso marinated scottish salmon with toasted black rice.
