Time Out says

There’s a quirkiness to the West Loop’s family-owned Jerry’s Sandwiches, from the 100 sandwiches named after regulars to the folky, hippieish vibe. That’s why its new Wicker Park offshoot surprised us. If the wooden bar is this gorgeous, the decor this slick and the beer list this geeky, would the menu offer fancy food?

Nope. Just regular ol’ eats. The sandwiches remain good, fresh and in creative combos, plus there are burgers and a fish-of-the-day sandwich. The latter is a bit disappointing; blackened mahi mahi was puny at half the size of its brioche bun. But the veggie burger is among the best in town, loaded with black beans, fresh corn, cauliflower, roasted red peppers and eggplant. Wash it down with a yeasty Bam Bière from Jolly Pumpkin, but go with Unibroue’s Maudite for the beef burger. Specify medium-rare and top with caramelized onions and chipotle chutney for the best results.

Desserts are straightforward and tasty (custard, carrot cake, etc.), but drink yours instead. Take the horchata martini or fresh mai tai on the patio, and you’ll have a pretty hard time recalling Jerry’s humble beginnings.
