The Grid On paper, this subterranean River North bar’s foie dog seems a decadent alternative to the average Vienna Beef frank. No bun or mustard here—the duck liver dog is folded into a warm slice of Texas toast and dressed with caramelized onions, candied apricot, creamy goat cheese and truffle mayo. Sourced from an upstate New York artisan—or so my server said—the sausage is sweet enough on its own without the unnecessary addition of both the fruit and onions. As a novelty, the foie dog is serviceable. Gimme a Depression dog any day.—Jake Malooley
