Susie’s Drive Thru This Northwest Side stand is best known for its milkshakes—more than 40 flavors from Banana Rum to Green River—rather than its hot dogs, and for good reason: The dogs here are average at best. The traditional Chicago dog ($2.24) is sassed up with cucumber and green pepper slices, but it’s boiled, bland and otherwise pretty lifeless. You'd be better off getting your caloric overload from a shake and Susie’s beloved cheese fries—served inside an edible taco shell bowl and, if you need more, topped with gyros, bacon and even Philly cheese steak ($4.24–$7.81).—Judy Sutton Taylor
