Mustard's Last Stand Located off the parking lot of Northwestern's football stadium, this sloping-sideways shack nails the traditional Chicago dog ($3), but completely won me over with its perfect McDonald's-style fries. The garden elements were well designed—two slices of tomato slipped comfortably between dog and bun; the pickle rested manageably on top. It was the rare case of being able to taste all those token ingredients in balance, in a single bite. But, man, those fries. You can have your duck fat, skin-on, double dipped, kimchi, whatever potato sticks. These were slim, hot, fresh, gold.—Brent DiCrescenzo
