Franks 'N' Dawgs The idea of brunch usually conjures up loving memories of stacks of pancakes, omelettes and a sweaty Bloody Mary. It was the furthest thing from my mind when I set out to order a hot dog at Franks 'N' Dawgs, but there it was on the menu: Brunch Dog ($8.50). The housemade Slagel Farms pork loin breakfast sausage comes with crumbled bacon and is topped with a fried egg and maple mayo—all stuffed inside a New England–style lobster roll. The chef's recommendation when he brought it to the table? Move the egg from the top of the sandwich to the bottom so when it breaks, the yolk soaks into the bread. This may have been some of the best advice I've ever received. The result was a delicious mess (I needed to eat it with a knife and fork) that tasted like a breakfast sandwich on crack.—Erin Delahanty
