35th Street Red Hots Right down the street from US Cellular Field, this little bright red hot dog shack is a gameday favorite for Sox fans. But like the Sox this year, this hot dog is disappointing. Served “depression-style,” the dog ($3.50) is steamed, topped with onions, mustard, sport peppers and relish on a plain bun—no poppy seeds—then rolled in white paper with freshly fried, skin-on fries. The dog is tough: it took a bit of gnawing to get through the casing. There’s no “wow factor” here. Not enough mustard or relish, onions chopped slightly too large, and the real kicker, a soggy bun, make this dog average at best. And the fries? They could be crispier. You’ll leave feeling full, but probably not satisfied.—Emily Gilmer
