El Souk (CLOSED)

Don’t discount that falafel sitting under the heat lamp—stuffed into a pita and topped with some tahini, it is, surprisingly, the best thing this stark takeout shop has to offer. Of course, that’s unfortunately not saying very much. The baba is oddly chunky, the shawarma is dry, and the kebabs are tough (perhaps having spent some time under heat lamps as well). Still, with the closest restaurants around here being a McDonald’s and a Go Roma, without that falafel sandwich you’d be doing much worse.
