Americanized Thai food is in an appropriate address here, in a large contemporary space on DePaul’s campus. This second outpost of Duck Walk has the same menu as the Lakeview original: approachable noodle and curry dishes, such as pad kee mao, which gets a bit of flavor from stir-fried Thai basil leaves but doesn’t remotely live up to its accompanying fire symbol. A $5.95 lunch box is a good deal any way you look at it (especially in Lincoln Park), even if appetizer portions (like fried bean curd) are small. So if cheap, BYOB and friendly are more important to you than authentic, you’ll find little to complain about.
