Phil Tadros, the owner of Noble Tree and Dollop coffee shops, is behind this Lakeview spot. But don’t expect Kickstand to have the same mismatched furniture as its siblings. This space is sleek, with stainless-steel counters and a vintage bicycle hanging on the wall (which should tip you off to the joint’s “bike” theme, if the name didn’t already). Metropolis coffee is brewed, and a majority of the food is outsourced: Pies are from Hoosier Mama and pastries are from Bleeding Heart. They’re perfect companions to the sweet, creamy lattes—particularly on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, when the place is open until midnight.
