The city’s lone Eritrean restaurant serves Ethiopian eats but also a few Italian favorites, from ricotta frittata to red-sauced spaghetti (before it declared independence from Ethiopia in 1993, Eritrea, bordered by Sudan, Djibouti and Ethiopia, was an Italian colony from the late 1800s through the mid-1900s). History lesson aside, Den Den is a solid choice for platters brimming with softened spinach, creamy lentils and tender hen soaked through with the gingery, garlicky chili paste berbere.
