Chicago Restaurant Week is back for its 17th year, offering special prix fixe menus at participating spots in Chicago and the suburbs. This year's edition features a wide range of options all across the city, from Rogers Park to Hyde Park. The 17-day celebration of local cuisine includes many of the best restaurants in Chicago as well as beloved neighborhood destinations. We browsed through all of the participating restaurants and have put together some recommendations, whether you're craving a decadent dinner, brunch with a view or simply looking for a bargain.

What is Chicago Restaurant Week?

Chicago Restaurant Week is an annual, citywide event that features special tasting menus at hundreds of Chicago restaurants. Each participating location offers prix-fixe lunch ($25), brunch ($25) or dinner ($42 or $59).

Chicago Restaurant Week runs from January 19 to February 4.

The flagship in the Boka Restaurant Group empire hasn’t lost a step since opening 20 years ago. While the Michelin-starred experience typically comes with a hefty price tag, you can enjoy a four-course dinner for $59 during Restaurant Week. The meal will start with a choice of hot and cold appetizers, such as dry-aged beef tartare and duck leg ravioli, before transitioning to entrees like Icelandic cod and grilled pork collar. Desserts include a black sesame brownie with matcha ice cream, and guests can tack on wine pairings for an extra $40.

There’s no better opportunity to experience Parachute—one of the best restaurants in town–than during Restaurant Week. Beverly Kim and Johnny Clark’s contemporary Korean-American spot will serve a family-style dinner for $59 per person, featuring choices like yuk hwe (seasoned raw beef), Korean fried chicken, onion and seafood pancake, marinated dry-aged sirloin, s’mores shaved ice and more.

Sushi lovers—Tanoshii in the West Loop is offering a stellar deal with its $59 dinner menu. You’ll start with the restaurant’s signature “fish and chips” or pan-fried scallop, and bites of sashimi. The third and fourth courses include a dressed nigiri flight and specialty rolls, while mochi ice cream rounds out the meal.

Treat yourself to a luxe steakhouse experience without breaking the bank at DineAmic Hospitality’s modern chophouse. Guests can choose between French onion soup, lump blue crab cake and chopped salad to start. The second course boasts options like petite filet, roasted salmon and roasted chicken, while dessert offers banana cream pie or chocolate caramel cake. You can also enhance your meal with larger cuts of beef, lobster tails and sides. The dinner menu is priced at $59 per person.

Lettuce Entertain You’s Japanese concept inside the St. Regis Chicago is all luxury, and its Restaurant Week menu is no different. Priced at $59 per person, dinner kicks off with edamame and a hand roll, followed by choice of miso black cod or flat iron steak. Each table will also receive either ankake yakisoba or wild mushroom sizzling rice, plus chocolate silk tarte for dessert.

For the weekenders, Stephanie Izard’s Peruvian-inspired restaurant at the Hoxton hotel offers a stellar brunch deal for $25 per person. The set menu starts the meal off with spicy tuna avocado dip, followed by shrimp causa and a big empanada with maple sausage, sweet potato and sunny side egg. Finally, guests will be treated to quinoa French toast with queso helado, passion fruit honey, aji jam and pecan quinoa crunch.

The Four Seasons Hotel Chicago is teaming up with local icon Garrett Popcorn for a special Restaurant Week celebration. Adorn executive chef Richie Farina has created a $59 three-course dinner menu that presents Garrett’s familiar flavors in unique and exciting dishes, from mac n’ cheesecorn bites to pan-seared scallops with buttery popcorn puree to sweet salsify with chocolate popcorn ice cream and tableside nitro chocolate popcorn puffs.

Inspired by the alleyways packed with bars and eateries in Japan, this West Loop newcomer has put together an omakase-style dinner menu for Restaurant Week. Priced at $59, the six-course meal features dishes like ebi dumplings, scallop hand roll, chef’s choice nigiri, strawberry and matcha cream sando, and more.

Want some gorgeous views to complement lunch? Then make your way to Cindy’s, where you can have a great meal against the backdrop of the skyline. Selections include potato bisque, fish fry, a “Not So Secret” Secret Burger and roasted corn panna cotta. We won’t blame you for taking the rest of the day off afterwards.

Rick Bayless’ renowned Mexican restaurant is offering the same menu for lunch and dinner, so get the best bang for the buck by dining in the afternoon. You can enjoy fresh ceviche, sopecitos rancheros or corn tamales as an appetizer, and options like chicken mole poblano, winter veggies enchiladas and carne asada (additional $6) for your entree. Cap things off with a cuatro leches cake or Bayless’ signature chocolate pecan pie.

Chef Jenner Tomaska and his wife Katrina Bravo blend art with fine dining at their lauded Lincoln Park restaurant Esmé. Though the regular tasting menu is typically a pricey affair, guests can stop in during Restaurant Week for a $59 dinner that presents Tomaska’s signature housemade Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and elevated plates like grilled Australian wagyu short rib and Dover sole.

Most Restaurant Week menus are pretty limited so if options are what you’re looking for, head to Piccolo Sogno. The Italian standout offers at least four choices per course on its lunch and dinner menus. You can feast on nonna’s meatballs swimming in tomato sauce, pappardelle with wild boar ragu, four-cheese ravioli, flaky millefoglie and much more.

A majority of folks visit this iconic and longstanding Chicago spot for its steaks, but don’t let the absence of beef deter you from the great deal that’s offered during the day. Priced at $25, Gene & Georgetti’s lunch menu boasts some of the restaurant’s signature dishes, such as the garbage salad and the boneless chicken alla Joe. You’ll also get a sweet treat like tiramisu or Italian cookie gelato to cap off the meal.
