Since 2001, Laura Cid-Perea and Luis Perea have been churning out wedding and specialty cakes, plus individual-sized pastries (the tres leches are wildly popular and come in as many as seven flavors). A fire in summer 2008 destroyed Bombon’s original 18th Street storefront, but Cid-Perea is still dishing out all of her signature pastries here. The couple also operates a pretty, sit-down café on the Near West Side, so you’re pretty much covered whenever that sugar craving hits.
