Restaurant veteran Mel Markon has returned to the scene with what he's dubbed an "Italian fun pub." It's actually not that "pubby"—it's more martini than beer in here—but the "fun" part is in full effect on the menu. That is, if you consider Italian sushi (Italian ingredients rolled to resemble maki) and monstrous burgers topped with cheese fries and pancetta "fun." (The sushi—shrimp wrapped in prosciutto and basil—is actually pretty tasty; the burger is just overwhelming). Fried zucchini, whitefish, tiramisu…it's all executed with skill and modesty. Still, it's likely to be the $10 carafes of wine that you remember most.
