If you aren’t a young, beefy Eastern European guy, this Serbian market/café can be a little intimidating. Get over it. The flaky, housemade pies dubbed burek are filled with either meat or cheese and have a chewy, buttery crust. Slow-roasted beef is succulent with a crisp, charred edge. Housemade baked goods include soft rounds of white bread and krofna, puffy, sugar-dusted doughnuts. And those guys are much too interested in watching football (that’s soccer to you) to pay you any notice.
