This hole in the wall has all the ambiance of a janitor’s closet, and its menu reads like a stoner’s dream sequence. It starts with “smooshs” (crostini) and dabbles in burgers, but its raison d’etre is eight takes on the Canadian delicacy known as poutine, in which thick french fries are submerged in gravy and covered with anything from mac and cheese to truffle mayo. To eat here is to test the limits of gluttony: If you leave without the Birthday Cake “HappyShake”—housemade birthday cake blended with ice cream and topped with rainbow sprinkles—you’re a quitter.
