Vegetarians, vegans and mat-toting yogis can find a lot to like about this simple café, where vegetarian proteins (eggplants, beans) take the place of meat in a variety of light, healthy dishes. True to its name, avocados are maximized here, whether in a thin puree with lots of cracked pepper or in wraps and sandwiches. Order the house salad and you'll be met by an enormous bowl of fresh, tender greens, thinly sliced cucumber, diced mango, black beans and—of course—ripe avocado. Eat the whole thing, and you've earned one of the pastries from Golden Rise Bakery. (At least that's what we told ourselves when the candied pecan–topped cheesecake tartlet quickly disappeared.)
