Middle Eastern eating is typically a safe bet, because no matter how tough or gristly the kebabs are, there’s always hummus, dolma, falafel and baba ghanoush—and those things can never be bad, right? Kind of. At this bare-bones Noble Square joint, the spreads are a bit lackluster (especially the soupy baba), so it’s smartest to get an order of falafel, pair it with some hummus (the best spread of the bunch), and finish with the juicy chicken shawarma. And whatever you do, get it to go, because this stuff calls for beer, and though it’s BYOB in here, there’s not a bottle opener in sight.
