November is upon us, which means cooler weather and impending arrival of the holiday season. At Time Out Market Chicago, you can warm up with comforting fall dishes from some of the newest kitchens, plus check out a variety of exciting events. It’s also the perfect place to host a Friendsgiving gathering, with plenty of shareable dishes so there’s something for every palate in your group. Here’s what you can expect this month at the food and cultural hub in Fulton Market.

Maplewood tap takeover

Local favorite Maplewood Brewery and Distillery is taking over the taps at Tony’s Rooftop Bar this month and we’re celebrating with a launch party on November 11. Stop by and grab a beer while enjoying a set by the DJ Firm. Maplewood brewers will be on site for tastings and each guest will receive a raffle ticket on arrival, as well as additional raffle tickets for every beer purchased.

Veterans Day

Time Out Market Chicago is honoring all who served on Veterans Day. Veterans or active duty members can stop by the bar at the Market on November 11 to receive a $15 card to use at any of the kitchens. Must present a valid military ID; the offer is limited to the first 100 guests.

Candle making class with Einnim Candle Bar + Apothecary

Head to the Market on November 13 for an evening of candle making led by Oak Park shop Einnim. Experts will be on hand to guide you through the process of creating a custom soy wax candle that’s uniquely scented from a blend of essential oils. Each candle comes in an 11-ounce glass vessel and provides 50-55 hours of burn time. You’ll also receive a $25 card to spend on food and drinks at the Market. Purchase tickets via Eventbrite.

Drinksgiving

Looking to escape the family or have some fun before Thanksgiving? Let the Market help you make some (blurred) memories on November 22, a.k.a. Black Out Wednesday. The bar will be serving up cocktail specials all night and DJ Louie Cue will get the crowd dancing with some beats. Just don’t blame us if your plate of turkey comes with a hangover the following day.

Little Bird exhibit and artist reception

Make your way up to the second floor of the Market on November 26 for a special photo exhibit and video showcase by local artist DayAndrea Thompson. The evening will kick off with a gallery highlighting moments from Lollapalooza, Benny the Bull’s birthday party and more, followed by the premiere of Little Bird, a collection of visual poems that takes audiences on a journey through grief and loss, love and hate, and comfort and discomfort. Afterwards, Thompson will be on hand for a Q&A session and an artist reception.

New Year’s Eve party

Although it’s still weeks away, it’s never too early to start thinking about New Year’s Eve plans. This year, Time Out Market Chicago and Chicago Scene—renowned for hosting the city’s longest running NYE bash—are teaming up to send 2023 off in style. Spread across 50,000 square feet, the party will feature all-inclusive drink packages, electrifying beats by DJ Sye Young and DJ Jem, and a colossal balloon drop at midnight. As an added bonus, guests will also receive a food card to use at any of the Market’s eateries. If you’re looking to go all out, spring for a reserved table with bottle service or VIP admission, which grants access to the second and third floors plus an extended open bar. Tickets are available now via Eventbrite.
