1. See an all-female cast of Second City performers in sketches that subvert girl-power tropes in She the People: Girlfriends’ Guide to Sisters Doing It for Themselves. The two-act show takes the UP Comedy Club stage at 8pm tonight, and tickets are $26–$41.

2. Hear Texas-based trio Khruangbin play music influenced by ’60s and ’70s funk and soul as it manifested in south and southeast Asia. The band plays Lincoln Hall at 9pm, with jazz-fusion duo Mattson 2 opening; tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door.

3. Playwright Kristin Idaszak puts a metatheatrical spin on Upton Sinclair in Another Jungle, about a writer trying to put on a play about her Polish ancestry and its connection to the stockyards. Tickets are $25 in advance, but unsold seats can be had for free in person at the Pride Arts Center beginning one hour before tonight’s 8pm show.
