1. Today is Record Store Day, and many of our favorite local shops will have exclusive LPs, in-store performances and other special perks for the music-lovers’ holiday. Check out our online guide for hours, locations and best bets.
2. Cap off Record Store Day by dancing the night away to vintage vinyl at the monthly Soul Summit, now in residence at East Room. The party goes from 9:30pm to 5am and admission is free, but you can bypass the line by purchasing a $10 VIP ticket ahead of time.
3. Catch up on the week’s news with a cocktail at the Paper Machete, the long-running “live magazine” where local writers, comedians, musicians and the occasional celebrity guest wittily weigh in on the latest headlines. The free show starts at 3pm at the Green Mill, but arrive early if you want to get a seat.
